Numerous standards of care exist for GE junction cancer, as this anatomic location has been included in both esophageal and gastric studies. Some of the studies have utilized radiation, both pre- and post-operatively, while other studies have not used radiation therapy. In this presentation, we will review the rationale for radiation, treatment options based on esophageal and gastric studies, and the growing push towards preoperative chemoradiation.
