Ashley M Hopkins Clinical Oncology Society of Australia Annual Scientific Meeting 2018

Ashley M Hopkins

I, Dr Ashley Hopkins (B. Pharm [Hons], PhD), am a National Breast Cancer Foundation Early Career Fellow in the Discipline of Pharmacology at Flinders University. I am a registered pharmacist and completed my PhD in pharmacometrics and precision rheumatology in 2016 at University of South Australia. I am a motivated early career researcher with emerging expertise and leadership in precision medicine, clinical / cancer epidemiology, and advocacy of data transparency. My current primary research focus is on the utilization of emerging big-data sources and data science techniques to identify precision oncology strategies for cancer medicines. To date I have negotiated access to individual patient data from over 100,000 advanced cancer patients treated with medicines, collected from industry and electronic-health record sources. Ultimately, I aim to use these sources to identify precision oncology strategies to improve the use of cancer treatments, and to facilitate informed decision making by advanced cancer patients.
